The Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC) has officially announced that local government elections for chairmanship and councilorship positions will be held on October 19, 2024. This decision underscores the Commission's commitment to inclusiveness and adherence to the electoral laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

During a critical stakeholders' meeting, Hon. Mamman Nda Eri, Chairman of KOSIEC, presented the detailed election timetable and schedule of activities. He highlighted the importance of following constitutional guidelines and assured that the Commission is diligently preparing for the collection of forms, verification, documentation, and primary/general elections at the local government level.

Hon. Eri urged aspiring candidates to thoroughly understand the candidacy requirements before picking up nomination forms. He emphasized the need for all participants to uphold the integrity of the electoral process and abide by the law.
