Barely Seventy-two (72) hours after a horrific accident occurred involving a 40-feet heavy duty truck which let loose its unstrapped container smashing two vehicles one of which contained eight (8) school children waiting in their parents Nissan saloon car parked by the road side at Lokongoma market within Lokoja metropolis on Thursday last week which by share divine intervention from the Supreme Being narrowly escaped death  unscrached.

In a follow - up to the incident,  Secretary to the Government of Kogi State (SGS) Mrs. Folashade Arike Ayoade, Ph.D  visited the home of the survivors at the weekend.

 The SGS who was at the scene of the crash on Thursday says her visit to the school children is to comfort them, rejoice and praise God for averting the untimely death of the children.

Mrs. Ayoade told the parents not to waver in their trust in God as the lord has shown HE is omnipotent, omniscience and omnipresence and should be praised at all times for HIS mercies.

She reassured of the State government`s support at all times and its determination to ensure the culprit is served justice.

In a related development, the Kogi SGS stated that one Mr. Samuel Onimisi Philip, a staff of K.R Cabs will be rewarded for his bravery.

She stated this when Mr. Samuel visited her office on Monday in Lokoja,

The SGS reiterated that Mr. Samuel risked his life in the face of imminent danger to rescue the lives of the 8 school children who were crushed underneath the heavy duty container as such will be rewarded  accordingly for his courage by the State Government.
