To address the challenge of access to quality Education in Ganaja Village Community of Ajaokuta Local Government Area of Kogi State, the Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones has promised the Community that the State Government would look into their request for the Establishment of a Government Secondary School in the Community.
The Commissioner made this known when the Community leaders led by the Member Representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, Hon. Abdulraheem Sani Ogidi submitted the request of the Establishment of a Government Secondary School in Ganaja Village to him in Lokoja.
He stated that the State Governor, Alhaji. Usman Ahmed Ododo is committed towards ensuring that every child in Kogi State has access to quality and affordable Education.
The Commissioner who described Education as a tool to addressing poverty and degradation in the Society said the State Government would do everything possible to address the challenge of none existence of a Government Secondary School in the Community.
According to him, Kogi State Government has prioritized Education as number one which he said is the only way to deal with challenges facing the society.
He noted that the Free Education Policy of the State Government is aimed at reducing the burden of the payment of School and Examination fees on the parents and also to reduce the Out of School Children in the State.
Kogi State Government he said would ensure that the old glory of Public Schools where students do not need to acquire University Education before he or she can speak impeccable English and develop his or her mind is restored.
Earlier the Member Representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, Hon. Abdulraheem Sani Ogidi pledged to the loyalty of Ganaja Village Community to administration of Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo saying the administration is implementing policies that are beneficial to the people of the State.
He stated that Ganaja Community with its rapid population growth need a Government Secondary School that would address the challenge of access to Public Secondary School Education been faced by students in the Community.
According to him, the Secondary Schools in the Community are owned by private individuals, adding that there is need for a Government Secondary School to be Established in the Community to cater for the Educational need of the people especially the less privileged ones.
Also speaking, the special Adviser to the Governor on Community Integration and Harmonization, Hon. Haruna Muhammad Ganaja thanked the Commissioner for his prompt action to the problem and promised that Ganaja Community would not disappoint the Government.
