The Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Kogi State Council has commended Governor Usman Ododo for implementing a New Harmonization for all categories of Pensioners in the state.
Speaking during a courtesy call on the Kogi State Head of Service in his office recently, the chairman of the union, Comrade Clement Ohida expressed gratitude to the Governor for the extension of his kindheartedness and consideration towards the state retirees at this season .
The chairman noted that, such increase for Pensioners was last realized about 20 years ago adding that, since then no increase had been made at all.
Highlighting His Excellency's achievements, the Chairman applauded his prompt and regular payment of monthly pension, new pension harmonization as well as the implementation of Health Insurance Scheme for Pensioners in Kogi state.
Speaking further, Comrade Ohida thanked the Head of Service for his unwavering supports and commitment to the welfare of Kogi Pensioners.
In his remark, the Head of Service, Mr Elijah Evinemi FCA, praised the leadership of the union for their calmness and perseverance, assuring them of His Excellency's determination to prioritize the welfare of the Pensioners.
Speaking further, he assured them of the state governments plan to explore a long-term financial solution to address the backlog of gratuities comprehensively.
