Kogi State Commissioner for Education Hon. Wemi has Inaugurated the Kogi State Senior Secondary School Education Board.
The ceremony which was held in Lokoja the State Capital on Wednesday had all the Members of the Board in attendance.
The Commissioner charged the members to work tirelessly to achieve the goals and objectives behind the establishment of the Board.
In his words " I urged you to work tirelessly to ensure that our schools continue to provide a conducive learning environment that fosters academic excellence, creativity and innovations."
He stated that because of the roles Education played in the future of the Nation, they should see their appointment as a call to duty in helping the Governor's unwaivering Commitment in ensuring that students of Kogi State have access to quality and affordable Education.
He urged them to work together as a team in order to achieve greater impacts.
In her address, the State Executive Chairman of Kogi State Senior Secondary School Education Board, Dr. Habiba Suleiman said the coming on board of the Kogi State Senior Secondary School Education Board marked the beginning of renewed commitment to the Advancement of Secondary School Education in the State.
The Board she said is pivotal to the shaping of the minds of young ones, adding that under the leadership of the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Board would uphold Excellence, transparency and innovations in the administration of Secondary School Education.
According to her, the Board would improve the quality of teaching and learning, enhanced School Infrastructures and ensure the welfare of staff and students.
She promised that with team work, dedication and support of all stakeholders the Board would achieve the missions and the ideals behind its Establishment.
Recalled that Kogi State Senior Secondary School Education Board was established via a law enacted by the Kogi State House of Assembly which came into effect on 24th of January, 2025.
The Law specifically in section six (6) sub section one (1) provides for the composition of the Education Board and it's Members.
