Kogi Government Assures of the Implementation of National Education Quality Assurance Policy

The Kogi State Government said it would make everything possible to ensure the implementation of National Education Quality Assurance Policy in the State.

The State Commissioner for Education Hon. Wemi Jones made this known at the engagement meeting with stakeholders on the implementation of the National Education Quality Assurance Policy in Kogi State in Lokoja on Tuesday.

He stated that the policy would improve the overall quality of Education by setting standards and supervising their implementation.

The Commissioner called for effective collaboration between the Federal Education Quality Assurance Services and the State Ministry of Education to ensure seamless and effective implementation of the Policy.

In his address, the Director, Coordinator Evaluator Mr. Ajayi Ezekiel, Federal Education Quality Assurance Services said the revised National Education Quality Assurance Policy (NEQAP) is a document and testament to improve the quality of Education in Nigeria, saying that the Policy is in line with the renewed hope agenda of the present administration.

The document according to him would address various stages in Education like monitoring, supervision, evaluation of schools, capacity development of leaders to improve professional skills and competence.

He stated that any meaningful government should be concerned with the improvement of Education, saying that education is the bedrock of the State and National Development.

In their respective goodwill messages, the Ag. Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education Mrs. Omolayo Berikisu Onasare and the Director Education Quality Assurance Services, Ministry of Education Mrs. Opalua Ruth said the initiative underscored the State Government Commitment to enhance quality Education in the State.
