SGS Commends Salem University’s Plan to Establish College of Medicine

The Secretary to the Government of Kogi State (SGS), Mrs. Folashade Arike Ayoade, Ph.D, has commended Salem University, Lokoja, for its vision to establish a College of Medicine and its proposed partnership with the state government.
She gave the commendation while receiving the university’s management team in her office during a courtesy visit in Lokoja.
During the visit, the Registrar of Salem University, Dr. Adejoh Emmanuel presented the institution’s plan to collaborate with the state government by using the Kogi State Specialist Hospital as its teaching hospital. He noted that the initiative would significantly enhance the training of medical professionals and contribute to the improvement of healthcare delivery in the state and beyond.
In her remarks, Dr. Ayoade welcomed the proposal and assured the delegation of the government’s openness to collaborations that promote educational growth and strengthen the health sector. She described the initiative as timely and aligned with the administration’s developmental goals.
The visit represents a vital step toward fostering synergy between the public and private sectors in the advancement of medical education and healthcare services in Kogi State
