Kogi Deputy Gov Lauds Ofu State Assembly Member, Ahmodu Shehu, for Good Representation
The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Comrade Joel Salifu, has hailed the Member representing Ofu State Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Shehu Seidu Ahmodu, for his commendable and purposeful representation of his constituents.
The commendation was contained in his remarks made on Friday during an empowerment program organized by the lawmaker at the residence of the Deputy Governor in Ejule, Ofu Local Government Area.
Comrade Joel Salifu said that the initiative shows a significant delivery of the dividends of democracy to the people, affirming that the Assembly Member has displayed true sincerity and integrity in representation, deserving of accolades.
He stated that the lawmaker has complemented the efforts of the governor, who is dedicated to bringing joy to the lives of the people and transforming the state, encouraging him to sustain the tempo.
The Deputy Governor expressed gratitude to the constituents for their support of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the current administration, assuring them that Governor Ododo is committed to transforming the state, taking governance to the grassroots, and improving the quality of life for the citizens. He urged the people to continue their support for the current administration to succeed.
Earlier, the Assembly Member representing Ofu State Constituency at the House of Assembly, Hon. Ahmodu Shehu Seidu, expressed his appreciation to the constituents for their support during his reelection, revealing that the empowerment program constitutes part of his account of stewardship.
He listed numerous projects he has facilitated for the area, which include the construction of a block of five lockup shops in both Ogbonicha and Aloma markets, the reconstruction of the Ugwolawo central mosque, the distribution of twelve CG motorcycles, the provision of two 500 KVA transformers for the Ofoke and Ogbabo communities, the awarding of scholarships to over one hundred students across the three districts of the local government, and the provision of over twenty sewing machines and grinding engines, along with farming tools, among other initiatives.
According to him, these constituency projects would not have been feasible without the support and leverage afforded to the state lawmakers by the Governor, urging constituents to rally around the present administration to ensure its success.
The Executive Chairman of Ofu Local Government Area, Hon. Mohammed Lawal Musa, said that the empowerment initiative is tye first of its kind. He expressed appreciation to the state government for not depriving the lawmakers of their entitlements in their quest to provide exemplary representation to their constituents.
On his part, Hon. Muhammed Nasiru Alfa, Director General of Kogi Community Watch and Ancillary Matters, urged fellow lawmakers and leaders in positions of authority to emulate the exemplary actions of the Ofu Assembly Member and lead by example.
The Ejeh Ofu, His Royal Highness Chief Akwu A Obaje, expressed gratitude to the lawmaker for changing the narrative in the area, noting that the event is indeed the first of its kind. He lauded the current administration for raising exemplary leaders with the public's interest at heart.
In his goodwill message, the Assembly Member representing Adavi State Constituency, who also serves as the Chief Whip of the House, Hon. Haruna Asema Baba, stated that the Ofu constituency project is a reflection of the teachings of former Governor Yahaya Bello and current Governor Ododo, stressing the importance of giving back to society. He commended his colleague for the laudable initiative.
Highpoint of the event was the motion for the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for a second term, moved by the member representing Adavi State Constituency in the House of Assembly, Hon. Haruna Asema Baba, and seconded by Hon. Ahmodu Shehu Seidu, which received overwhelming support and acceptance from the constituents.
