SGS Leads Siblings to Honour Mother at 80

It was an emotional celebration of life on Tuesday, 26th August, 2025, as family, friends, and well-wishers gathered in Lokoja to honour Mrs. Aliu Kikelomo Victoria on the occasion of her 80th birthday.

The milestone celebration, which held at her residence in Lokoja, drew guests from far and near to rejoice with the octogenarian and her family. Among her ten children is the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Mrs. Folashade Arike Ayoade, Ph.D, who led her siblings in celebrating their mother’s remarkable journey.

The event featured a thanksgiving service officiated by Pastor Olukayode Shola of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Abuja who ministered the Word of God and offered prayers for the celebrant, her children, and the gathering.


Speaking on behalf of her siblings, Mrs. Ayoade, the first child of the family, expressed deep gratitude to all who graced the occasion. She described their mother as a resilient and God-fearing woman who weathered many storms in raising her children to become responsible citizens.


“We are thankful to God Almighty for keeping our mother alive and healthy to witness this day. On behalf of my siblings, I sincerely appreciate everyone who travelled from far and near to join us in celebrating her. This means so much to our family,” she said.

The joyous gathering, which was well marked by heartfelt tributes, warm family moments, and thanksgiving, as Mrs. Victoria’s life was celebrated not just as a mother of ten, but as a matriarch who instilled values of faith, discipline, and service in her children.

The event was well attended by Commissioners, Senior Political Appiontees,  Clergymen,Staff of the SGS office, and many other dignitaries, to many to mention.
