Gov. Ododo Pays Condolence Visit To Finance Commissioner Over Father’s Demise
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, on Monday, led a delegation of  government officials on a condolence visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Finance and Economic Planning, Hon. Mukadam Asiwaju Idris Ashiru, FCA, over the passing of his father, the late Alhaji Asiru Ijagbemi, in Isanlu, Yagba East Local Government Area.
The Governor, represented by his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu, commiserated with the bereaved Commissioner and family. He described the late patriarch as a man of wisdom whose passing came at a time his guidance was most needed. He prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul and urged the family and the Isanlu community to take solace in the impactful life he lived.
Accompanying the Deputy Governor were Hon. Ahmodu Shehu Seidu, Member representing Ofu State Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly; Hilary Ojoma Egwudah, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor; Acharu Okpanachi, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism; Timothy Ojoma, Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security; Tom Offor, Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties II; Adejoh Nicodemus, Adviser to the Governor on Culture and Tourism; Aboh Ibrahim, Adviser to the Governor on Environment; Sheikh Sani Momoh Musa, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Ethics and Values; and Hassan Atawodi, former Ofu Caretaker Chairman, among others.
The late Alhaji Asiru Ijagbemi passed away on Sunday at the venerable age of 95 after a brief illness. He is survived by relatives, grandchildren, and children, among whom is the Kogi State Commissioner for Finance and Economic Planning, Asiwaju Makadam Idris Asiru. He was laid to rest on Monday in Isanlu, Yagba East local government area, according to Islamic rites.
