The Permanent Secretary Kogi State Ministry of Education Mr Alabi Albert Bamigbade on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on the Management of the Graphics Newspaper to seek collaboration with the organization for the effective coverage of the Ministry's activities and programs.
Mr. Alabi who was received by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Organization Mr. YJ Itopa emphasized the need to collaborate with the Media as education according to him is key to the development of the Society.
The Permanent Secretary said the Mission and Visions Statement of Education is to be amongst the best in the provision of qualitative education for her citizenry and with the mandate to formulate policies, domesticate National Education Policies and harmonizing them for Public and Private Schools, there is need to collaborate with the Media to help in showcasing why Education is an important and vital tool for social and economic development of the State.
He commended the Executive Governor of the State Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for prioritizing and allocating 30% of the State Annual Budget to the Education Sector.
The Permanent Secretary said the Ministry will ensure that the citizens of the State have access to quality accessible and affordable Education.
Responding, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Graphics Newspaper Mr. YJ Itopa congratulated the Permanent Secretary on his appointment and promised the organization's readiness to partner with the Ministry to ensure the implementation of the Ministry's policies and programs.
The Managing Director advised the Ministry on the need to have a mutual understanding with other Media Organizations to ensure effective coverage of the Ministry's programs
He commended the Governor for appointing Mr. Alabi as a Permanent Secretary saying that his appointment is a product of merit and dedication to duties.
The Permanent Secretary was accompanied by the Director Educational Planning Research and Statistics Dr. Animoku Ahman Elizabeth, the Staff Officer Mr Abubarkar Ahmed and the Public Relations Officer Mr Musa Solomon.
