Kogi Deputy Gov Receives APC Leaders of Alloma, Igo, and Ogbonicha Wards on a ‘Thank You’ Visit
In his usual manner of spending weekends with his people, the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Comrade Joel Salifu, on Sunday played host to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress from Alloma/Okula, Igo, and Ogbonicha Wards at his country home in Ejule, Ofu Local Government Area.
Speaking during the visit, the Leader of the Ofu Legislative Council, Hon. Mariam Idris, and Hon. Danjuma Wada expressed appreciation to the Deputy Governor for appointing their sons and daughters into key positions in government, particularly the appointment of Hon. Daniel Abutu as Director of Protocol in the Office of the Deputy Governor and Hon. Mariam Idris as the Ofu Legislative council leader. They pledged their continued loyalty and support to the success of the present administration while appealing for the installation of additional solar street lights to illuminate their communities.

In his response, the Deputy Governor thanked the delegation for their visit and acknowledged the strategic importance of the three wards, describing them as “the home of our father, the late Prince Abubakar Audu, and many other notable leaders and stakeholders.” He noted that the wards and two others form the Igalogba District of Ofu Local Government and hold a special place in the political history of the local government.
The Deputy Governor recalled his close relationship with the people of the three wards, having served there in the past as a teacher, and during his days as a union leader. He urged the stakeholders to redouble their efforts to ensure the ruling party’s victory in future elections, especially as 2027 approaches, as a mark of appreciation to Governor Ododo and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the numerous appointments and opportunities given to the district.

On the request for solar street lights, Comrade Salifu directed the community leaders to compile a list of communities in need of lighting so that technicians could be mobilized for immediate action. He also appreciated them for their loyalty and urged them to show even greater commitment to Governor Ododo's administration.
