Kogi Deputy Gov Receives Benue Counterpart, Attends Burial Rites in Anyigba
The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Comrade Joel Salifu, on Thursday night warmly received his Benue State counterpart, Barrister Sam Ode, who was in the state to attend the burial rites of the late Baba Joseph Ejima Ataguba in Anyigba, Dekina Local Government Area.
It was a moment of shared feelings and unity as the both Deputy Governors joined family members, friends, and well-wishers at the Christian wake keep held at the residence of the deceased in Anyigba.

Addressing the mourners, Comrade Joel Salifu commiserated with the bereaved family, describing the late patriarch as a man who lived a fulfilled life marked by years of impactful contributions. He described the passing as painful, noting that the late patriarch died at a time his wisdom was mostly needed, but appreciated God for the life well lived haven raised good children, and served the government for about thirty four years before retirement.  
Joel Salifu prayed for the peaceful repose of the departed soul and asked God to grant the family strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The late Baba Joseph Ejima Ataguba, aged 91, a retired Permanent Secretary in the Benue State Ministry of Agriculture, passed away on July 23, 2025, after a brief illness. He will be laid to rest in Anyigba on October 3, 2025, according to Christian rites.
