NUJ Information Chapel EXCO Visits Perm Sec, MFB&EP, Seeks Support for Maiden Gathering

As preparations intensify for the maiden edition of the Information Chapel Gathering, the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Information Chapel, Kogi State Council, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, in Lokoja.

The visit was aimed at soliciting financial support for the forthcoming event scheduled to hold between November 28 and December 4, 2025.

Chairman of the Chapel, Abubakar Shuaibu A., informed the Permanent Secretary that the team was in his office as a follow-up to an earlier letter requesting assistance towards the successful hosting of the gathering.

He explained that the event is designed to bridge the gap between retired and serving officers and to foster comradeship among Information Officers across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies in the state.

Responding, the Permanent Secretary, Mallam Sani Haruna, appreciated the EXCO for the visit. He noted that despite the ministry’s lean resources, management would find a way to support the Chapel’s efforts to successfully host the maiden gathering.
