For a decade now, the Office of the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State (OSGS) has continued its tradition of gathering in gratitude—celebrating life, health, and a successful year of service. What began years ago as a modest thanksgiving has evolved into a colourful annual celebration, drawing management and staff, friends of the office, political appointees, constituents, and dignitaries who come together to rejoice and give thanks to God for His mercies.
Each year, the event features two major highlights:
recognition of retired staff who served meritoriously, and presentation of awards to outstanding staff from various departments who distinguished themselves during the year.
Speaking at the 2025 edition, the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State (SGS), Mrs. Folashade Arike Ayoade, Ph.D., expressed deep gratitude to God for His grace upon the office throughout the year. Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Administration, Mr. Akoji Ejigbo, Ph.D., the SGS commended the staff for their dedication and commitment to service.
She noted that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo remains unwavering in his commitment to the welfare of civil servants and urged staff to reciprocate through punctuality, diligence, and renewed dedication in the coming year.
Mrs. Ayoade also poured encomiums on the retirees—particularly the former Permanent Secretary, Administration, Mr. Benjamin Ajodo—describing their contributions as invaluable to the growth and stability of the office.
According to her, the 2025 awardees were carefully selected based on merit, exceptional professionalism, and exemplary service delivery.
Goodwill messages were delivered by the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet & Special Services, Mr. Aruru Bartholomew; the Director General, KOSCEPA, Chief Victor Adewale Omofaiye; Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Administration, Mr. Ephraim Amurawaiye; Mrs. Bola Fabola; and others, all of whom attested to Mrs. Ayoade’s work ethic, compassion, and leadership.
