KOGI WORKS COMMISSIONER HOSTS BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION IN HONOR OF GOVERNOR ODODO, EMPOWERS ADAVI LGA

The Honourable Commissioner for Works in Kogi State, Hon. Engr. Mohammed Ahovi Yusuf on January 1, 2026, hosted a birthday celebration in honour of the Chief Servant of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State. At Tafari Hotels and Suites, Adavi LGA, Kogi State.
The event was a heartfelt show of appreciation for the Governor’s visionary leadership and outstanding commitment to the growth and development of the state.
The colourful gathering drew an impressive array of dignitaries, political leaders, government officials, and party stakeholders from across Kogi State. Speaking at the event, The Commissioner for Works Hon. Engr. Yusuf extolled Governor Ododo’s achievements, noting that his administration has repositioned Kogi State as a major construction hub while recording remarkable progress across critical sectors of the economy. He described the Governor as a dynamic and people-centred leader whose developmental strides are visible and widely acknowledged across the state.
Reaffirming his loyalty and political support, the Commissioner pledged the firm backing of the good people of Adavi Local Government Area, assuring that all the eleven wards would be swiftly delivered to the Governor.
In his words, 'Adavi people understand the value of gratitude and remain firmly committed to the leadership and vision of Governor Ododo. At the appropriate time, we would express our appreciation in a loud voice.'

In separate goodwill messages, the APC Chairman in Kogi State, Hon. Abdullahi Bello, the Auditor-General of Local Government, Hon. Siyaka Yakubu Adabenege and Daudu Isa Ozi Salami, the Ohi-Otenyete of Ebiraland, among others, commended Governor Ododo for his purposeful leadership and transformative governance. They also hailed Hon. Engr. Yusuf for his diligence and impactful service as Commissioner for Works, noting that the visible infrastructure development across the state is a testament to his unrelenting efforts.
In a gesture that underscored his deep commitment to grassroots development and humanitarian service, Hon Engr Yusuf carried out a cash empowerment programme for stakeholders and residents of Adavi.
Chairmen of the eleven wards received ₦200,000 each, while 24 local government executives were empowered with ₦100,000 each. Additionally, ten women received ₦100,000 each, and 92 beneficiaries drawn across the wards received ₦50,000 each.
This singular gesture and initiative builds on the Commissioner’s long-standing tradition of philanthropy. Recalled that, he also empowered all the women leaders in Adavi with ₦200,000 each in October. His health foundation’s support for indigent citizens, and an ongoing scholarship scheme that covers tuition fees for vulnerable and underprivileged students. Through these interventions, Hon. Engr. Mohammed Ahovi Yusuf continues to restore hope, uplift communities, and complement the development agenda of the Kogi State Government as championed by the People's Governor.
