The Executive Governor of Kogi State Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has Congratulated the organizers of the Second Memorial Lecture of Late Engr Dr. Joseph Oyeyani Makoju for sustaining his legacies.
The Governor who was represented by the State Commissioner for Education Hon. Wemi Jones made this known at second memorial lecture of late Engineer Joseph Makoju at the Federal University Lokoja.
According to the Commissioner late Engineer Joseph Makoju's contributions to humanity in the area of energy and manufacturing sectors was huge and should not be allowed to waste.
For the memory of Late Engineer Makoju to live on, the government of Kogi State he said has decided to use the instrumentality of Education to develop young men and women that will impact positively on the society.
The Establishment of the University of Science and Technology, Osara according to him is to groom many 'Makojus' in Science, Technology and Mathematics.
Honorable Jones who hailed the efforts of Engineer Makoju to national development said the state is grateful for his contribution to the economic growth of the State, saying that as a member of Kogi State Economic Council, his contribution to the 32 years State Economic Plan, a template designs for the economic development of the State is highly appreciated.
The lecture with a topic " Challenges in Infrastructural Development: Need For Adequate Engineering Capacity" was delivered by Engr. Dr. Felix Atume.
