As part of 2021- 2030 strategic plan for Education, the Kogi State Government has formally unveil at a press briefing in Lokoja the commencement of free online prequalification registration for Kogi State Students`Bursary Award tagged Ododo student support 2024
Making public the governments' laudable initiative, the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones says the registration for the Bursary Award is strictly for students of Kogi State origin currently enrolled in Tertiary Institutions across Nigeria".
He said students should key into the opportunity maintaing that it`s real.
According to the Commissioner" Education is the tool in which government intends to drive away poverty in the State".
He applauded the Executive Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for matching words with action as it concerns welfare of indigenous students countrywide.
Speaking to the audience at the briefing, the Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Scholarship Board, Mr. Raji Afolabi announced that the registration opens on 16th April 2024 and closes on 30th April 2024.

Mr. Raji disclosed that the "essence of the free online pre-qualification exercise is to arrive at an accurate data and budgeting".
In their separate remarks, the Special Adviser to the governor on Students and Youth Affairs, Hon. Niyi Oladele as well as the National President of National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS) Mr. Jerimiah Elukpo lauded the process as they poured encomiums on the governor for reaching out to students in order to cushion the rigor of learning.
