In a bid to implement the National Minimum Wage of N70,000, approved by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu in July, the Kogi State Government has set up a 19-member committee.to actualize the approval. The committee's task is to find ways to implement the new minimum wage in the state.
At the inauguration in Lokoja, Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Pastor (Mrs.) Folashade Arike Ayoade, Ph.D, outlined the committee's terms of reference. She noted that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has initiated the process, pending the working template from the Federal Government out of deep desire to enhance purchasing power of the workers.

This development is in line with the Federal Government's National Minimum Wage Act 2024
