Kogi Deputy Gov Reiterates Govt Dedication to Making Youth Realize Potentials
The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Comrade Joel Salifu, has reaffirmed the state government's dedication to supporting young people in the state achieve their full potentials.
During his presence at the 2025 Ofu Group Council Annual Camp Meeting on Saturday, in Agbagidigbo, Ofu local government area, the Deputy Governor highlighted the current administration's commitment to sponsoring activities that will enable the youth recognize their capabilities and make meaningful contributions to society.
Comrade Joel Salifu stressed the important role played by the Boys Brigade Nigeria, a non-governmental organization, in nurturing leaders, citing his personal experience of gaining boldness and courage through the organization that ultimately shaped his current position.
Encouraging members of the group to embrace discipline and endure the challenges it presents, the Deputy Governor stressed that such qualities are crucial in shaping a better future, while urging them to take active part in politics and make meaningful contributions to the growth of the society.
He offered prayers for the grace of God, which elevated him from the group to assume the position of the second citizen of the state, to connect with the remaining members and fulfill their heartfelt desires, while urging them to engage in the ongoing INEC Continuous voter registration exercise and ensure they obtain their permanent voter cards.
Ealier, the Ofu group council chairman of the Boys Brigade Nigeria, Hon. Philemon Musa, appreciated the Deputy Governor for his presence, saying that the Kogi State government has shown high-level of humility and tolerance. He appealed for the support of the government for the smooth operation and running of the boys brigade in the local government.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of an award to the Deputy Governor in recognition of his exceptional support and contributions to the growth of the Ofu group council of the Boys Brigade. Additionally, the patron batch and handbook were presented to the Deputy Governor, who was appointed as the group's patron during their recent investiture.
