Kogi Deputy Governor Hosts Ododo/Oyibo Political Continuity Network 2027
The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Comrade Joel Salifu, earlier today received the State Coordinators of the Ododo/Oyibo Political Network to his residence in Ejule for a courtesy visit.

Setting the tone for the meeting, Hon. Dansuleman Ayeh, the FCT Coordinator of the group, said that they had visisted to formally register their presence with the Deputy Governor as a platform dedicated to endorsing the Governor for continuity  beyond 2027, pledging their sincere commitment to the success of the current administration.

He noted that the security situation in Kogi state had been bad in the past, but with the advent of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, the narrative is changing, expressing gratitude for their commendable efforts, attributing their support to the good works of the governor, while declaring that the Igala agenda promoted in the 2023 election was a scam.

He reaffirmed the supoort of the Igala sons and daughters in diaspora for Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo's re-election, and called for recognition for the group's structure at the local government levels.

Similarly, Mrs. Mabe Okayi, the group's FCT Woman Leader, stated that the prompt payment of pensions and salaries to their families back home serves as a significant motivator for supporting this administration, while advocating for improved empowerment initiatives for women.

Remarking, the Kogi East Coordinator of the group, Hon. Omika Idakwoji Ejoh, expressed his appreciation to the Deputy Governor for granting the group an audience. He requested for logistical assistance to aid the group’s operations.

On his part, the Director General of Kogi Community Watch and Ancillary Matters, Hon. Muhammed Nasiru Alfa, noted that the caliber of individuals involved shows that the group is trustworthy. He urged the group to refrain from competing for positions with party executives while commending them for establishing a solid foundation for their platform.

Responding, the Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Salifu, expressed his gratitude to the group for their visit, commending them for their commitment to supporting calls for Governor Ododo's re-election in 2027, based on their personal convictions.

He said that the timely disbursement of salaries and pensions at both the state and local government levels, the improvement of security across the state, and the increased infrastructure development shows the Governor's genuine dedication to the welfare of the state. He thanked them for their faith in the Governor and their support of the administration, declaring that Ododo will complete an eight-year term, given his commendable track record.

Comrade Joel Salifu stressed that the major challenge facing Kogi East is the upcoming 2027 election, urging constituents to demonstrate their appreciation for the Governor through overwhelming support, which would give the Igalas a voice in national discourse. He encouraged the group to educate the public on the need to support the All Progressives Congress so as to negotiate for more development in Kogi East. 

According to the Deputy Governor, no individual should oppose Govermor Ododo in Igala Land in the upcoming 2027 election in other to remain relevant in the broader political landscape. He pledged his support for the group, and assured them of his commitment to their operations, while  advising the executives to maintain unity and mutual understanding among its members.

The meeting between the Deputy Governor and the state coordinators of the Ododo/Oyibo Political Continuity Network 2027 is a demonstration of the public acceptance of the present administration, as well as the ongoing groundwork and permutations by the second citizen of the state ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
