GYB Model Science Secondary School Wins Lokoja Zone of Akinrin Educational Foundation Inter-School Debate

GYB Model Science Secondary School Lokoja has won the second session of the Akinrin Educational Foundation Inter-School Debate Competition organised for Schools in Lokoja

The competition was held on Friday 5th of June, 2026 at the GYB Model Science Secondary School Adankolo , Lokoja with Four participating Schools: the GYB Model Science Secondary School, Army Day Secondary School Julitola International School and Muna International Comprehensive Academy. However, Julitola International School did not turn up for the Debate.

The Debaters debated on the topic, " Artificial intelligence doing more harm than good"

After the robust Performances by the Debaters, the GYB Model Science Secondary School Lokoja came first with 401 points, Army Day Secondary school came second with 348 Points while Muna International Comprehensive Academy scored 328 points to take the third position.

The Winners from Lokoja will later square up with the winners from Kabba Zone to determine which school will represent Kogi West at the State Level Competition.
