Contractors handling various projects at the Kogi State University Kabba have been told to expedite actions on the Projects as the projects are lagging behind the delivery time.
The State Commissioner for Education Hon. Wemi Jones made the call on Friday while on the inspection of the projects in Kabba along with the Commissioner of Housing and Urban Development Hon. Abanika Taiye and the State Project Consultant Engineer Mike.
He stated that apart from the contractor handling the Faculty of Science all other contractors were given 12 Months to complete the projects and hand them over to the State Government.
In his words " I recall very clearly when we were handing over the construction of the projects to the contractors, apart from the faculty of Science all the projects were not to last more than twelve months."
The Commissioner who Commended the quality of work being done, noted that the inspection was to determine the cause of the delay and proffer way forward for the completion of the projects.
Speaking the State Commissioner of Housing and Urban Development Hon. Abanika Taiye Commended the Contractors for the quality of the job but harped on the need to complete the jobs within the time frame.
He stated that the Contractors were well mobilised for the work and have no excuse to delay the work.
In his response, the State Project Consultant Engineer Mike assured that the projects would be ready for commissioning on the First of September, 2026; assuring that the Contractors handling the Male and Female Hostels would complete the work by the end of the month.
The team inspected the Altra- Modern Senate Building, Male and Female Hostels and the Faculty of Science Complex.
